Turn tone into rhythm.

Turn tone into rhythm.

Turn held chords into rhythmic pulses, reshape drum loops, carve out transitions, or automate Min and Max so every section gets a new filter pattern.

Keep changes tight and controlled, or open up the frequency range until filtering carries the hook.

Mobile users: turn off silent mode to hear audio

A vintage-style dual-control frequency slider panel with two black rotary knobs labeled MIN FREQ and MAX FREQ, surrounded by small illuminated dots on a dark green faceplate with a cyan border, set against a textured dark background.

From subtle shifts to deep filtering

Min Freq and Max Freq set the boundaries of every cycle, so the effect only reaches as far as you want it to.

Keep the range narrow for a focused pulse, or open it up for dramatic changes in brightness and weight. You can also place Min above Max to reverse the direction entirely.

A dark green audio effects control panel with two large black knobs labeled 'LFO PERIOD' and 'LFO SHAPE', plus yellow text for 'SAW+', 'SAW-', 'SIN', 'TRIANGLE', and numbers 0, 5, 10, and 15. The panel is centered on a dark textured background with green and orange glow effects.

Shape every pass

LFO Period sets cycle length, while LFO Shape controls how each pass travels between frequency limits. Sine glides, Triangle rises and falls evenly, and Saw+ or Saw- creates one-way patterns with a fast reset.

Stretch cycles across pads and transitions, tighten them around guitars, synths or loops, or sync everything to tempo for rhythmic filtering.

Paradox Audio Stereo Unit analog effects processor in a black metal rack case, featuring a teal and olive green faceplate with five black rotary knobs and a vintage-style control panel on the left.

Make every cycle speak

Reso emphasizes the frequencies around the cutoff, controlling how clearly the filter comes through the source.

Lower settings keep it broad and smooth, while higher settings add a sharper peak, stronger wah-like character and a filter line that cuts through the mix.

Paradox Mod Filter Advanced Controls

Open ADV controls to select filter type, lock cycles to tempo, soften hard resets and offset left and right channels for wider stereo patterns.

Paradox advanced controls

Tempo + Sync OFF

Sets the base timing when Mod Filter is running freely with sync off. Shorter values make each cycle repeat faster, while longer values stretch the pattern out. This control is ignored when Sync is enabled.

Sync

Locks the LFO to your DAW tempo. Once enabled, the free-running LFO Tempo and LFO Period controls are replaced by the synced note value.

Tempo + Sync ON

Selects the musical note value used for one complete LFO cycle while Sync is enabled.

LFO Smooth

Softens the sharp reset of Saw+ and Saw- by blending either waveform toward Triangle. Use a lower setting for a harder rhythmic edge or turn it up for a more gradual transition. It does not affect Sine or Triangle.

Filter Type

Choose between Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass and Notch. Lowpass reshapes the top end, Highpass changes the weight of the low end, Bandpass narrows the sound around the cutoff, and Notch creates a phaser-like dip through the frequency range.

L/R Phase

Offsets the left LFO against the right. Keep it at zero for both channels to follow the same cycle, or increase it to create more separation across the stereo field without changing the rate or waveform.
