You found a distortion setting you love, but the top end is getting sharp or the attack has disappeared. Stereo Distortion lets you keep working on the sound inside the same plugin. Target the distortion with crossover filtering, manage resonances with Warmth, and emphasize or soften transients with Shaper before blending it with the dry signal.

Drive & Warmth
Push the drive without keeping every sharp edge.
Drive takes the audio into saturation, while Warmth suppresses resonances that can become uncomfortable as you push harder. The advanced Warmth controls let you choose the frequency region, amount and response speed, so you can work on the distortion you hear rather than just turning it down.
Use a little drive to add harmonics or commit to a much more distorted setting. Warmth gives you another way to shape the result before you reach for an extra processor.

Filters & Shaper
Distort the frequencies you want to hear.
Switch the filters to crossover mode and apply distortion to the band between the high-pass and low-pass settings. The frequencies outside that band pass through without the distortion, then rejoin the processed audio.
Shaper lets you emphasize or soften the attack. Keep more definition when the drive smooths things too much, or soften the front of a sound before setting the final wet/dry balance.

Dynamic saturation
Let the distortion react to the performance.
Dyn changes the effective drive as the input gets louder, while Age adjusts how quickly that behavior recovers. Try a more lingering response or a faster recovery and hear how the distortion follows the notes instead of staying fixed.
Advanced controls
Decide where the harmonics land.
Drive Focus lets you direct the saturation toward the center, the sides, or both. Add more drive to the center of a stereo signal while leaving its sides cleaner, or concentrate it on the sides without treating everything equally.
The advanced panel also brings Dyn, Age, LF Bump and the Warmth settings together. Compare two setups with A/B and save the settings you want to come back to.

Frequently asked questions
Can Stereo Distortion stay subtle?
Yes. Drive covers restrained saturation as well as heavier distortion, and Mix lets you blend the processed audio with the dry signal.
What does Warmth do?
Warmth suppresses resonances. Its advanced frequency, depth and speed controls let you adjust how that suppression responds.
Does crossover mode distort the whole frequency range?
No. In crossover mode, the band between the filter frequencies receives distortion. The frequencies outside that band are recombined without that distortion.
Is Drive Focus a stereo-width control?
No. It chooses how the saturation is applied to the mid and side information. It does not replace a dedicated stereo-width control.
What do Dyn and Age change?
Dyn makes the effective drive react to input level. Age adjusts the recovery of that dynamic behavior.
