Another BUS compressor goes into my top 3 (actually top 4 now).

In my world, it's always good to try out a few glue-compressors to see which one works best for a given song/mix.
The XBus gave me several clearly audible reasons to consider it a worthy purchase.
To me, it's also the first emulation with useful short attack times on material with acoustic rock drums. And I have more than 4 BUS comps, including HW.

My new favorite compressor

I even like it more than my Softube Chandler Limited Comp, but this one sounds more modern and has some nice assertive character in a musical and more delicate way, huge glue, good bass compression character that enables the mix to sit better. The settings possibilities with the REL MOD and ATK MOD (material dependant time constants that you can adjust), headroom for the saturator, sidechain mid filter semi parametric eq, give such a great possibility to tweak it really to the sound you have in mind... I think it sounds even sweeter than my SSL bus comp from waves, very soft but with great clarity still. I just love it !
