XBus keeps the punch and fast response people reach for in VCA compressors, then extends the design with control over the areas that are usually fixed. Use the sidechain filter to reduce how much low-end energy triggers the compression, drive the circuit harder with Headroom, place saturation before or after compression, and blend your dry signal in parallel.

Adjust how hard you drive XBus and where saturation sits
Headroom changes how hard your signal drives into the circuit. Keep it backed off for cleaner compression, or push it when you want more density and harmonic weight.
Place saturation before compression to change how XBus reacts, or move it after compression to color the signal once the gain reduction is already set.
Control how much low end drives your compression
Low end can pull more gain reduction than the rest of your mix needs. Raise the sidechain filter to reduce that influence without cutting low end from your mix, keeping the compression from dipping every time the kick hits.
Push XBus harder and blend your dry signal back in
Use Mix to combine the compressed and dry signals inside XBus. Push the ratio, timing, or saturation harder than you would in series, then blend the dry signal back in until you have the transient and dynamic range you want.
