Choose odd-harmonic color, even-harmonic saturation or digital soft clipping, then develop the treatment with Distort, SAT and broad tone controls. Blend it with the dry signal to find how much character belongs in your arrangement.

Use Distinct to add saturation across a drum group, develop a fuzzier bass treatment or give a synth a more strongly distorted voice. The same compact set of controls lets you approach those jobs at different intensities. You can stay with a restrained amount of color or drive the processing until distortion becomes a prominent part of your music.
ODD and EVEN give you different harmonic starting points, while DIGIT provides digital soft clipping. Switch the mode as you develop the treatment and hear how it changes the distortion in context. The choice gives you another way to shape the result before deciding how hard to drive it.
The HF and LF controls adjust the tonal balance before the distortion stage, so they influence the character of the processing as well as the balance you hear. Bring more high-frequency emphasis into the drive or change how strongly the low end contributes. Distinct gives those broad tonal moves a role in developing the distortion itself.
Distort sets the main amount of processing for your selected mode, while SAT adds another saturation adjustment whose response depends on the input and distortion settings. Use the controls together to develop a treatment you like, then bring the Mix control down when you want that character as a layer alongside the dry signal.
Auto Gain helps with level compensation as you adjust the distortion, and the Output control lets you refine the balance. A/B comparison keeps two versions of your settings ready to audition. You can try a different mode or drive setting while keeping the version you already like available.
