DIODE-STYLE COMPRESSOR / LIMITER
ADC1
For compression you’ll want to hear.
ADC1 brings the character of diode-style compression to your mix, from gentle bus control to drums that breathe with the groove. Two compressor modes and limiting give you different responses to explore, while Out mode turns ADC1 into a saturation processor. Parallel blending and mid/side processing give you the freedom to shape how that character becomes part of your mix.
Compression with character
Explore the response of ADC1.
Choose how hard your compression works.
Hold a bus together with Comp 1, lean into the stronger response of Comp 2, or use Limit to push a drum room into heavier, more sustained compression. ADC1 gives you three different dynamics responses to work with, each with its own attack and release range.
Shape how much of the initial transient comes through and how the compression recovers afterward. The same knob position has a different timing response in each mode.
Work in mono, stereo or mid/side, then use Link to adjust the two channels’ settings together. Unlink them when you want different compression on each side, with a gain-reduction meter for each channel showing how it responds.
There’s a saturation processor in here, too.
When your dynamics already sit where you want them, switch to Out mode and use Input to drive ADC1 into saturation. Compression is bypassed, so you can explore its harmonic character without adding gain reduction.
Keep your low end from taking over.
ADC1’s sidechain high-pass filter reduces how strongly the low end drives compression, so you can keep the bass in your mix while changing how the compressor responds to it. Choose from five filter frequencies, or leave it off for the full signal to drive the detector.
The sidechain filter changes what triggers the compression. It does not remove those bass frequencies from the audio itself.

Blend the compression into your mix.
Use Mix to bring a heavier compressed setting back alongside your dry audio, then adjust Width to shape the stereo spread.
Presets, A/B comparison, undo and redo keep your settings together, while oversampling gives you a way to reduce aliasing when you push the processing harder.
“Very quickly it became one of my must haves in drum chain.”
