V-Comp

SINGLE, DOUBLE and TRIPLE give you three timing behaviors, progressing toward a faster, firmer response. Use SINGLE for a gentler starting point, then move through DOUBLE and TRIPLE when you want more control over fast changes.

The Recovery control lets you shape how the gain reduction relaxes within the selected mode. Glue your group tracks together, then adjust Recovery to suit the pace and sustain of your music.

V-Comp can be a color treatment even when you don’t need gain reduction. Switch compression OFF and keep the modeled tube and transformer character available, then use the input level to develop the treatment.

That gives you another reason to keep it in a session. You can hear what the signal path contributes on its own, then engage compression when the dynamics need it. A compressor becomes a tube-color option as well.

The + Deluxe 6386 style gives you the expanded input-pad choices, including DRIVE. It provides another route into a harder-driven treatment alongside the timing and recovery settings.

Use it when you want V-Comp to do more than smooth the levels. A more forceful setting can become part of the character of a group, and the Mix control lets you bring that processing back alongside the original audio.

The sidechain filter reduces the low end’s influence on the compression, giving you a choice when bass energy is steering the response too strongly. The low end remains in the audio while the detector receives a different balance.

Use the parallel blend to set how much of the compressed treatment you want to hear, then refine the harmonic character with THD. You can work on the movement and the color together without committing the whole mix to the heaviest setting.
