Profoundly Musical Compression

To highlight the lovely saturation the V-Comp is capable of, we’ve added a 4th option to the existing Single, Double and Triple modes. “Bypass”, as the name implies, completely bypasses the compression section of the circuit while still running through the all-tube signal path and big, fat transformers!

The V-Comp has a very gentle knee, which is to be expected from it’s vari-mu design, and allows for incredibly natural sounding compression on most sources.

A versatile tool

Kiive is killing it with these emulations. This one, I can confirm sounds almost identical to my hardware unit. The difference is subtle to a point where if I changed out the tubes in my hardware V-Comp, I would get a similar difference.

This is useful for a lot more than be apparent. The saturator alone is fantastic. The compression is wonderful on bass and vocals as everyone says, but it’s also great on synths and effect laden guitars. Adds a layer of gentle motion on stereo sources and sounds really cool on drum rooms.

Great sounding

I purchased two- the Golden Pre and the Vcomp. The Vcomp is not very impressive, honestly just a run of the mill comp. The Golden Pre, otoh, is a work of art. Doesn't quite perform as the hardware does but the perceived weight that is given to a signal is unmatched by other saturators. Easily became an instant option for the 2Bus - doesn't work in every instance but it works really, really well.
