Choose from three attack settings to catch the initial transient or let more of it through, then use Release to shape the sustain and movement. Threshold and Ratio let you go from gentle compression to a much more aggressive response.

Use the sidechain high-pass filter to keep the low end from overtriggering the compressor while leaving the bass in your audio.

Switch to Gate for a stronger effect, with Range setting how much the level drops and Attack and Release controlling how it opens and closes. You can tighten the spaces between hits or let more of the decay through.
