Classic Tube Compression, With More Control
KC1 is built around the smooth, gradual gain reduction that makes opto-style compression so easy to work with.
Its extremely soft knee lets the compression come in naturally, while ratios from 2:1 to 10:1 give you room to move from light control to a much firmer response without losing the character of the compressor.
Three Ways To Shape The Timing
Choose Fixed when you want KC1’s stock attack and release, Manual when you want full control over both settings, or Fix/Man for a consistent fast attack with a release shaped by both your setting and the incoming signal.
That gives you three distinct ways to control how the compressor catches the front of the signal and how it lets go afterward.
Keep The Low End From Running The Compressor
KC1’s sidechain high-pass filter lets you reduce how strongly low frequencies drive the gain reduction without removing them from the audio itself.
Set it anywhere all the way up to 280 Hz, it gives you a cleaner way to control the low end feeding into the compressor.
Stereo, Dual Mono + Mid/Side Processing
Run KC1 as a linked stereo compressor, let the left and right channels react independently in dual mono, or switch to mid/side when you want separate control over the center and sides.
You keep the same core tube-compression character while choosing how KC1 responds across the stereo image.
Full Metering + Modern Workflow
Switch the VU meter between input, output and gain reduction so you can see exactly what KC1 is doing.
Up to 16x oversampling, A/B comparison, undo/redo, preset management and scalable GUI sizing round out the workflow without getting in the way of the compressor itself.
