British-style EQ & transformer saturation
VX-Q
Classic British EQ with five transformer designs.

VX-Q captures a rare British-style EQ and pairs it with five transformer models for a much wider range of sounds. Keep your EQ clean, dial in anything from a gentle harmonic lift to aggressive saturation, and choose whether the transformers come before or after your EQ.
Hear VX-Q in action.
The equalizer
Shape your tone without losing the detail.
Four musical bands let you open up the highs, reshape your low end and get more focused with the midrange.
Broad shelves or a focused bell.
Switch the low and high bands between shelves and bells, so you can make broad tonal changes or focus the adjustment around a specific part of your sound.
Auto Gain helps compensate for level changes as you EQ, making it easier to compare your adjustments.
Get more specific with the midrange.
Sweep the low-mid and high-mid bands to find the range you want to adjust. Their proportional curves narrow as you boost or cut, with Hi Q available when you need a tighter move.
Clean up unwanted lows and highs.
Use the adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters to control the extremes of your frequency range. Each filter has its own bypass, so you can compare the change without switching off your EQ.
The transformer section
Five models with a lot of sounds between them.
Keep VX-Q clean or explore five different harmonic responses, with independent Odd and Even controls and a choice of processing order.
Choose the transformer response you like.
Each model responds differently as you add saturation. Explore the five designs, then adjust how much of their harmonic response you bring into your mix.
The most restrained option, adding a light harmonic lift while keeping the original sound clear.
A denser harmonic structure with more saturation in the low mids.
The strongest saturation of the five, with dense overtones and a compressed response as you push it.
Brings the midrange forward with a focus on articulation.
Adds upper-frequency harmonics alongside a richer low end.
Go from a gentle harmonic lift to aggressive saturation.
THD sets the overall amount of saturation, while Odd and Even let you adjust the harmonic balance independently. Add a small harmonic layer beneath your EQ, or make the saturation a much bigger part of your sound.
Change the order and hear the difference.
Place the transformers first to shape their harmonics with the EQ, or move them after it so your boosts and cuts change what reaches saturation. Compare both orders with the same settings and hear how differently they respond.
Built for your sessions
Stereo flexibility and the controls you use every day.
Work on your channels together or separately, then compare and save your settings from the top bar.
Stereo, mid/side & Variance
Link the channels for stereo processing or adjust them independently. Mid/side gives you separate control over the center and sides of your mix, while Variance introduces the small differences in EQ gain, frequency and Q found between analog channels.
The VX-Q top bar
Adjust your input and output levels, link them to offset gain changes and choose oversampling from the HQ menu. Compare two settings with A/B, revisit changes with undo and redo, and save your own custom presets. You can also resize the interface and save a default setup for your next session.
“This tool really improves good mixes. I tried it and bought it right away.”
