An analog echo chamber in a plugin
The original Micmix Master Room XL-305 was released in 1979 and quickly became a studio secret weapon for its smooth, dimensional decay.
AudioScape rebuilt the hardware under the direction of the original designer, Wayne Kirkwood, using 12 springs precisely cut and tuned to mimic real room dimensions inside the tank.
The result is closer to an analog echo chamber than a typical spring reverb. It's the difference between a metallic boing and a lush, complex ambience that wraps around a source.
Per-channel tone shaping
Each channel has its own input drive control (push it harder for more character), a wet/dry mix knob, and a 4-band EQ dedicated to shaping the reverb signal independently of the dry sound.
You can brighten the reverb tail on one channel while darkening the other, or EQ the wet signal to sit in a specific frequency pocket without touching your dry source at all.
Mono drive, mono return, full stereo control
Mono Drive links the two channels together so both sides of the stereo field hit the spring assembly the same way, giving you a tighter, more centered reverb image.
Mono Return sums the reverb output to a single channel when you want the effect focused in the center of your mix rather than spread wide.
Between the two switches, the per-channel EQ, and the input drives, you have more control over how the reverb sits spatially than most dedicated reverb plugins offer.
