Hi guys. XTMAX is a very smooth and transparent compressor. I place it on a well sampled guitar track and when think this plugin couldn’t improve something that already sounded good. XTMAX grabs the signal and cleans up the transients, creating extra clarity and then it creates some beautiful harmonics and lifts them , creating a balanced perceived loudness. I have quite a few saturators and this will be one of my favorites for sure. Very nice design and functionality.
I was immensely impressed by the sound quality of this destruction plugin. That a distortion/clipping/saturation plugin could actually increase intelligibility and sweetness- what?? But it's true. Distinct Pro doesn't sound harsh or crappy unless you want it that way. You can dial in many useful flavors of distortion and even compression and it just sounds better afterward.
